Iron Removal
What Is Iron Removal?
When considering iron removal, factors such as water temperature, pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen content, and other factors will affect the results. Methods for iron removal vary depending on the type of iron you are dealing with in your water supply.
It is important to test your water prior to selecting any water treatment system. This is particularly true with iron removal. Iron removal is achieved through ion exchange in WaterBoss® models 700 and 900. WaterBoss is capable of clear water iron removal up to 10 ppm.
Most conventional DIY softeners are capable of removing 1 – 3 ppm iron from the water supply. WaterBoss is capable of higher removal amounts due to the compact bed of fine mesh resin. This feature allows the WaterBoss to backwash at a higher rate of pressure for iron removal.
If iron removal is greater than 10 ppm, the WaterBoss Model 900IF iron filter can handle clear water iron removal up to 15 ppm.
The WaterBoss model 900IF’s cabinet is identical to the WaterBoss 900 softener. When used in tandem both units will still result in a much smaller footprint than conventional equipment.
